The State of Arizona has developed academic standards that every Arizona teacher is responsible to teach. The intent of CST is to ensure each child is presented with the same content within a grade level and that student assessment is consistent between teachers. Teacher teams review these standards and create clusters or groups of performance objectives and determine "what" and "when" these specific standards clusters are to be taught and "how" to assess student's learning progress. The teaching strategies used to present the content are determined by each individual teacher.
